The old Chambers s...Sally: Thanks for you comment. The old Chambers school and the pool and park were replaced several years ago. The new Chambers was built on the site of the old park and swimming pool. All the school buildings were replaced because State Funds were available. The old buildings deteriorated because the School Board could not afford to maintain them. Even some of the new buildings are now unused because of declining enrollment. I lived at 143rd and Alder and walked thought the playground every day. There were no other large buildings on that block as the picture shows .
